On Wednesday 21st October Sidmouth Photographic Club took on Torbay Photographic Club in an annual competition. Both clubs submit 15 each of their best regarded Prints and Projected Digital Images. The battle is usually very tight, in fact Sidmouth beat Torbay last year by a single point and two years ago Torbay were 1 point victors. The scene was set for an entertaining and nail-biting evening. The images were shown at Kennaway House in Sidmouth to a well attended gathering of members from each club. The images were all critiqued and scored by professional judge David Snowden of Exeter Camera Club. At half time, having seen all 15 prints from each club, Torbay stood in a commanding position, 9 points ahead with 228 to Sidmouth's 219. These two clubs are very closely matched and in the second half it was Sidmouth who got the upper hand, pulling back all 9 points to make the final result a tie at 439 each! The club offered thanks to David Snowden for his great work in judging and to everyone from both clubs who provided the final 60 images. We all look forward to the next event in 2016.
